Dear Fellow Group Members,
Below are findings from our scouting trip and some plan suggestions:
Date: Based on the latest tally of availability we will hold ourFishing/Picnic Event on July 30th.
Rides: If you can provide rides or need rides, please contact us directly (davelin@juno.com ZGR01@yahoo.com sunliang11@hotmail.com). Please drivers provide us with the following information:
- Your name
- Home address
- Cell phone number (Or riders' cell phones)
- Rider names (If you have any)
- Availability of car seats (If you like to provide rides)
For those who need rides, please provide us with the following information:
- Your name
- home address/pickup address
- cellphone number/home phone number
Please provide us the above information as soon as possible, we need them for ride management and food preparation.
Entrance Fee: $7 per car. Please settle the gas money and entrance feewith your driver directly.
Fishing: Cast fishing is allowed on the Merrimack River front (where it meets the Atlantic Ocean). Currently fishermen are trying out forstriper bass and blue fish. We observed two fish and tackle shops on route 110 before the destination. Unfortunately the underwater terrain has much seaweed thus be prepared to loose some fishing hooks and sinkers. Nor does it have any piers for the crab traps. Please indicate to us directly (davelin@juno.com) if you are able to provide fishing poles.
Parking: Ample parking is available.
Restrooms: Within walking distance from the beach and the picnic area.
Convenience Store/Supermarket: Unfortunately there are no conveniencestores or supermarkets close by.
Food: Limited public grills and picnic tables are at the picnic area for barbecuing and picnicking. Public grills and picnic tables are on a first come, first serve basis. I may have two portable grills to bring. Due to the availability of public grills and personal grills I propose webarbecue (unless there are strong objections to the idea). Does anyonehave any portable grills or cooking utensils to bring with? For foodselection ideas please contact us directly (davelin@juno.com ZGR01@yahoo.com sunliang11@hotmail.com). I prefer to keep the grill food selections as simple as possible. For example: hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken wings.
