  • Time: 8/5, 2nd SGN (We may consider it to be on Saturday, Aug. 6, if some of Gospel group believers like to join us.)
  • Book range: Basically they should be Christian books, but it is also acceptable for the books which challenge Christian belief and faith (such as, Da Vinci Code)
  • Format is not very restrictive. Depending on how many books will be presented. Each one has about 10 - 15 minutes to briefly describe:
1) Why do you choose the book?
2) The author
3) Contents
4) A few minutes for Q & A.

4. Hymn Appreciation

  • Time: Either the weekend of 8/13 or 8/20.
  • Format: 1st session: hymn appreciation; 2nd session, music worship
5. Movie nights

  • Coordinator: Yin-Chu
  • Optiontal and informal

II.. Group Fellowship Buildup

1 Friends help friends

  • Friendship can also make a better fellowship. Within the believer group, what can we do for our friends?
- Care about friends' Christian lives;
- Pray for friends' spiritual growth and daily needs;
- Be a good testimony and encourage friends' faith;
- Remind friends of regular Bible and spiritual reading;
- More and more ...
  • This is not mandatory but strongly recommended because I think this is good way to build up friendship in Christ.
2. Secret praying angels

  • We encourage you playing as an angel regularly pray for 2 members in the believer group. Then each b/s has 1 to 2 angels praying for him/her. I will make a list and bring it to SGN on 7/1. If both positions of angels for one b/s are filled out, you then will have to pick up other b/s who still have space for angels.

3. Grouping
  • July: A chance to build up brotherhood and sisterhood, we will divide the believer group into one sister group and one brother group.
  • August: preliminary groups for fall session. The fall groups will be micro-adjusted based off the dynamics of preliminary groups. (Principles for August grouping has not been decided yet.)
  • Whether we extend the fall group to the next spring session or re-group, depends on review of fall session.
4. Summer book discussion leaders

  • The current book discussion leader will approach the next book discussion leader. Book discussion leaders follow the standard book discussion format: book review and understanding of the related Biblical truth -> case study and applications -> Sharing and group praying. For the details please visit this book blog.

5. Happy Birthday management

  • Coordinator: Priscilla
  • Promote monthly birthday celebration and write happy-birthday card to those who have birthdays in the month.
